From autumn 2026, pharmacists can prescribe within Pharmacy First. MedMe handles the operational work around every consultation: booking, intake, documentation, and follow-up.
Independent prescribing joins Pharmacy First from autumn 2026, and every newly qualified pharmacist registers as a prescriber from September 2026.Prescribing authority is no longer the constraint.
The constraint is operational: booking the consultation, capturing intake and eligibility, documenting the encounter, and following up. NHS England's target is at least 95% of onboarded pharmacies delivering prescriber-led consultations by 31 March 2027.

No. Pharmacy First consultations are recorded in one of the four NHS-assured systems, and MedMe works alongside whichever one you run. We are the booking, intake, documentation, and reporting layer.

No. It transcribes, summarises, and drafts for pharmacist review, and it does not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical decision support. That focus is consistent with the MHRA's July 2026 guidance on ambient voice technologies.

Not yet. The registry is a procurement signal rather than a legal requirement for documentation tools, and listing applications are open on a rolling basis. Ask us where we are with it.
